OverX Adds Clustering to XPress

Friday Nov 16th 2001 by Enterprise Storage Staff

XPress is OverX's association database designed for scalable, high-availability data storage and retrieval on distributed networks

OverX, a provider of network-oriented technologies that address the needs of distributed information infrastructures, today announced the addition of clustering to XPress, its association database designed for scalable, high-availability data storage and retrieval on distributed networks.

With the patent-pending clustering technology added to XPress's high-performance server platform, the core indexing capability smoothly scales to support virtually any capacity of data volume, transaction rate, and client load.

"Unparalleled performance levels, showcased in the ability to process over 20 billion transactions per day -- or 200,000+ transactions per second on a single processor -- is just one of the benefits of our technology," stated John Overton, OverX CTO. "Additionally, the XPress architecture allows for flexibility of rapid deployment in almost any industry."

Overton noted that current deployments are taking place in the Network Storage, Next Generation Netorks, and 3G Wireless Networking industries.

Available as an OEM component, XPress runs on a variety of platforms including both off-the-shelf and enterprise-class hardware. The Company licenses XPress to infrastructure software and service providers to be integrated into and to enhance their product and service offerings.
