LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc., a supplier of innovative storage solutions for the open enterprise, today announced that the company has joined BMC Software's Application-Centric Storage Management(TM) (ACSM(TM)) Consortium in order to jointly develop integrated storage solutions, align marketing opportunities, and strengthen key competencies via training and certification.
According to the companies, ACSM helps customers manage all enterprise storage assets in order to optimize business processes.

BMC Software is currently developing a Knowledge Module(TM) (KM) that integrates LSI MetaStor(R) E-Series storage systems with BMC Software's ACSM approach. ACSM provides storage area management for the storage enterprise.

The LSI Logic MetaStor family of storage systems scales a thousand fold, from 36 gigabytes to more than 39 terabytes of on-line data storage, and features software for centralized administration, replication, virtualization and disaster recovery. In direct attach, storage area network (SAN) or network attached storage (NAS) configurations, the MetaStor system can be connected to computers running Windows NT, Windows 2000, NetWare, Solaris, Linux, HP-UX, AIX, and/or IRIX operating systems.
