Low-profile PCI RAID card aimed at the growing high-density server market

Adaptec, Inc. today introduced a low-profile PCI RAID card aimed at the growing high-density server market. The single-channel card is the newest member of Adaptec's growing family of small form factor RAID solutions that includes two recently announced zero channel products.

The Adaptec SCSI RAID 2110S is the follow-on product to the Adaptec 2100S. Adaptec said the single-channel card's low-profile MD2 design enables it to fit into more system enclosures than cards of standard height. It features a true 64-bit/66MHz PCI architecture and a newer microprocessor with hardware XOR. The card is priced at $499 MSRP. Like all Adaptec microprocessor-based RAID products, the Adaptec 2110S ships with Adaptec's intuitive Storage Manager Pro software.

"Adaptec continues to deliver products that address the new form factor challenges of the high-density server market," said Lee Caswell, vice president and general manager of Adaptec's Storage Solutions Group. "With the addition of the Adaptec 2110S, we now offer resellers and integrators a complete line of RAID solutions for the high-density server market, from full-size, high-performance two-channel RAID cards to low-profile zero channel RAID solutions."
