Exabyte Inks OEM Agreement With ATTO

Exabyte announced an OEM agreement with Fibre ATTO Technology to incorporate the ATTO's Fibre Channel-to-SCSI bridge into Exabyte's tape libraries.

Backup systems vendor Exabyte Corp. announced an OEM agreement with Fibre Channel and SCSI storage connectivity manufacturer ATTO Technology to incorporate the ATTO FibreBridge(TM) 1180E Fibre Channel-to-SCSI bridge with a compact form factor into Exabyte's X80 and X200 MammothTape(TM) libraries.

"Exabyte's decision to incorporate our FibreBridge 1180E is further evidence that both companies are striving to deliver top-of-the-line Fibre Channel solutions to their customers," said Mark Wolfson, director of enterprise OEM sales, ATTO Technology. "We are pleased to be working with a leader in SAN technology and are optimistic about this opportunity to work with Exabyte to bring a Fibre Channel solution to market."

According to Exabyte, the X200 stores up to 30 terabytes of data with throughput of up to 1.08 terabytes per hour and is Exabyte's highest capacity, highest performance MammothTape automated library. The Exabyte X80 delivers data throughput of up to 864 gigabyte per hour with a total capacity of up to 12 terabytes.
